Fall finds…

The change in seasons is the perfect time of year to add a few “trendy” items to your wardrobe. I try to find lower priced trendy items, as I know they’ll usually be out of style by next season (as opposed to spending more on my closet staples below.) However, I will splurge more on sweaters and outerwear, because there’s just nothing I hate more than being cold! This fall, I’m drawn to interesting textures and some added pops of color!

Faux Fur Vest

I honestly can’t even say how much I love this vest! I’ve been wanting a fur vest for a few years, but just haven’t found ‘the one’. I think this one may need to come home with me!

Chateau Parka in Italian Stadium Wool Cloth

I LOVE this bright pop of color for fall and winter. The faux fur hood is a fun touch, but is also removable! While this is a bit more than I’d like to spend, but coats are great investment pieces (especially if they’re well made) so plan on wearing this for years and years to come.

Leopard Print Pullover Sweater

Under $20! I can definitely get on board with the leopard trend for that price! I own this sweater and am so impressed by the quality, especially for the price! Highly recommend! (Just be aware, it is a bit short in the torso!)

Croghan’s Goldbug Drop Earrings

These earrings are a Charleston icon, designed by Mini Hay, a family member of Croghan’s Jewel Box, a 100+ year old family business located on King Street. Read more about the story behind the goldbug here.

Faux-suede mini skirt

I love this color and texture, especially for fall! J. Crew factory is a great place to shop to mix in a few trendier pieces at a more attainable price point.

Classic Plaid Scarf

This plaid is a great basic as we head into the holiday season! I love that you can pull so many different colors out of it as an accent, too!

Lace Top with Pleats

This shirt is beautiful! It also comes in red, but I love the black for a year round top. A monochromatic outfit is so chic, so pair this with black pants and pumps, and maybe a pop of color for earrings!

Stretch Velvet Leggings

Can y’all tell I’m all about texture this season? I absolutely love these velvet leggings! I think they’d be great for family Thanksgiving/Christmas, as comfort is key when you spend most of the day eating :)

Polartec® fleece half-zip pullover jacket

One of my favorite bloggers shared this last year and I was so upset I didn’t snag it! I love the pale blush, and think this would be such a beautiful, casual outfit paired with dark denim to run errands around town!

Trouser Socks in Snowflake Fair Isle

I can never get enough cozy socks once the cold weather starts rolling in! I love the fair isle design on these, but the unexpected pop of lavender is just so pretty!

Pop Color Fair Isle Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater

I definitely inherited my mom’s love of Fair Isle turtleneck sweaters! While this one is a little more steep price point, the colors are just beautiful, plus, it’s cashmere…my favorite!

Lilly Pulitzer ‘Rorey’ Dress

This is the perfect versatile, year round dress. I actually bought this dress to wear to a Polo match earlier this fall, and am already planning on wearing it this Holiday season with a gold shawl to cover my shoulders in the cold. The material is really comfortable, plus it has pockets! Even my husband mentioned this dress would be year-round appropriate, so just go ahead and consider this a closet staple!

Coral Lane Knit Texting Gloves

These are on my Christmas wish list! I love the unexpected pop of color, plus, they are texting friendly! Santa, I hope you’re reading this!

Longchamp Le Pliage 21-Inch Expandable Travel Bag

I’ve always loved Longchamp bags, but hadn’t considered them for travel until I stumbled upon this on Nordstrom’s website. I think this would be the perfect bag for a weekend getaway!

Free People Ottoman Slouchy Tunic

This sweater was making its rounds big time last year around the blog world, and I missed my chance! I love this gorgeous pink color and the neckline.

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings

If you had asked me 3 years ago if I would ever wear leather leggings, my answer would be absolutely NO! However, these have definitely grown on me and are apparently very figure flattering! I’d love to try these out for fall.

Timeless style basic in quality over quantity…

I absolutely love timeless fashion. I’m inspired by the wardrobes of Kate Middleton, Jackie O, and Princess Grace. Over the years, I’ve learned I tend to focus highly on quality over quantity. While yes, there may be a higher upfront price, I’ve found I still wear the same clothes from 10+ years ago due to their classic style and high quality nature. I may not have quite as many clothes, however, my pieces are high quality classics aimed at standing the test of time! I keep my eyes peeled for when these big ticket items go on sale, and space my purchases out for these items over time.

Barbour Beadnell Waxed Cotton

This outdoor jacket is a classic staple in your wardrobe. Wear it to Oyster Roasts, football games, out running errands, etc… I think they do run large, though, so be sure to try on some sizes before buying. Nordstrom is a great option for this as they offer free shipping and returns.

Tory Burch ‘Minnie’ Travel Ballet Flats

While I don’t have this exact color, I have many pairs of the Tory Burch Minnie flats, and find them much more comfortable than the Reva style! They have always held up for me well, and are a classic, stylish, comfortable closet staple.

AG The Farrah High Waist Skinny Jeans

Jeans, bags, shoes, and outerwear are where I typically ‘splurge’ on high quality, long term items. I will usually buy one nice pair of jeans every few years, and have been able to hang on to them for years on end because of the high quality. I prefer to buy my jeans from Nordstrom, as if you have a store nearby, they will do simple alterations (like hemming) complimentary, plus, you just can’t beat their customer service! These dark skinny jeans can be dressed up or down, and will be classics for years to come.

Tory Burch Fleming Leather Convertible Shoulder Bag

The quilting on this bag is so beautiful and ladylike. I love the quality of Tory Burch items, and find I hang onto their bags for years on end. Again, I love to buy items like this through Nordstrom because of their impeccable customer service!
