Home is where the heart is…
Let me start by saying that I think my mom is the ultimate hostess. I grew up watching her host book club, dinner parties, her annual Christmas party, and more, and couldn’t wait until the day that I’d have the chance to follow in her footsteps. Now that I have my own house, I love any chance to entertain (although, I’m nowhere near the talent of my mom!) The items I’ve shared below are staples I love to use in our own home, but let me be clear…you do not need the fanciest, best equipment to welcome people into your home. Extending a generous, hospitable welcome and creating memories is what matters the most. Let me encourage you today to welcome friends & family into your home!

I absolutely love Juliska products. They are dishwasher, freezer, microwave, and oven safe…aka, easy! They are a basic staple, but I think the accents dress it up a little bit than a plain white plate. I cannot recommend enough!
We use these as our accent salad plates, but they’re also the perfect size to heat up a small muffin, etc… when you don’t want to use a full size plate. (It’s hard to tell from this picture, but they are a smaller size that layer perfectly on top of the larger dinner plates!) I’ve never met a scallop edge I haven’t loved, and these are no exception!
There’s pretty much nothing I love more than pie (going to thank my mom for that!) and I love to experiment with baking different pies. I love that this matches the rest of our dinnerware and steps up the presentation a bit from a simple clear glass pie pan!
This was a wedding gift from a dear family friend of ours (who is one of the best cooks I know!) I love using this to cook soups, stews, and most recently a delicious Chicken and Dumplings! While I linked this to Nordstrom, you can often find many at HomeGoods, so keep your eyes peeled! Le Creuset is a phenomenal brand for cookware, and although definitely pricey, they are wonderful for someone who loves to cook and entertain!
A great entertaining tip: always have some appetizers (or appies, as we call them!) on hand while guests arrive. No one likes to be hungry waiting for supper to finish! A cheese board is a great thing to pull together (Trader Joe’s is my go to for this!) and your presentation will look beautiful on this scalloped (are you seeing a trend?) marble board!
KitchenAid Professional 600 Stand Mixer
Some of my very favorite childhood memories were spent cooking in the kitchen with my mom in her own KitchenAid mixture. When my husband and I got married, my sweet mother-in-law gifted me this, and I was (and still am!) ecstatic!!! While pricey, this will last for years and years and is SO much easier than using a hand mixer, especially if you like to bake often like myself!
After using your KitchenAid mixer to make some delicious homemade cookies, you’ll need a cookie sheet for them to cool. Take my advice and buy the high quality ones! The previous ones I’ve purchased from large department stores just haven’t held up. These ones are great! Plus, the gold is just so pretty in your kitchen!
Next to my stand mixer, this is my most used kitchen item. I’m OBSESSED with this little tool. It makes it incredibly easy to chop onions, which is one of my favorite ingredients to cook with! I would seriously buy this for anyone you know who loves to cook!
My good friend makes these candles, and I LOVE them! The Spanish Moss is my year-round staple, but I love the Palmetto Pumpkin during the Fall. These candles are made from high quality essential oils and all natural soy wax, so they’re clean burning and won’t release harmful toxins, carcinogens, or pollutants into your home. Plus, they’re made locally. A total win in our home!
